The Bib Shirt by The Avid Seamstress is a beautifully considered design, centred around its distinctive front bib detail. With its softly structured shape and relaxed silhouette, it’s an easy piece to wear day to day, while still feeling polished enough for more dressed-up moments.
The pattern includes two neckline options, giving you plenty of flexibility depending on your fabric and the finish you’re after. The keyhole version offers a clean, minimal look, with a choice of either a full self-facing in your main or lining fabric, or a smaller, more discreet facing. Alternatively, the collar version brings a more classic feel, featuring a structured placket with optional buttons and buttonholes, finished with a neat collar for a slightly more tailored result. Both versions share the same core shape and sleeve, making this a wonderfully versatile pattern to return to again and again.
This style works beautifully across a range of fabrics. Crisp cotton lawns, chambrays and linens will give a more structured, everyday feel, while softer, drapier fabrics like viscose create a more fluid, relaxed finish. However you choose to make it, the Bib Shirt is a wardrobe staple in the making.

If you change your mind about an item or have received the incorrect item then we offer a very straightforward return policy. You may return unwanted goods up to 28 days after purchase for exchange, a store credit, or a refund.
Returned merchandise must be in the condition sold with original packaging and any tags intact. Goods must be unused, unopened, in perfect condition and remain in a re-saleable condition. Non-returnable items include kits once they have been cut, cut lengths of fabric, ribbons or trim, samples, sale items, and ex-demonstration items.
