Discover our Sashiko collection including threads, kits, samplers, fabrics, needles and thimbles! Sashiko originated in Japan about 400 years ago as a method of making clothes warmer and preserving them. By layering two or more pieces of fabric and sewing with a running stitch, small pockets of air are created, which trap warmth. Beautiful geometric patterns were stitched in undyed thread, creating the classic "cream on blue" look that we associate with Sashiko today. This Sashiko collection allows you to recreate these timeless designs with ease!
We also offer Sashiko workshops, where you can learn this traditional technique in a hands-on, guided setting.
