Gold is a modern reimagining of the classic denim jacket, both technical and creative in its design. Staying true to denim’s timeless heritage, it offers 18 bold variations for endless versatility.
Available in three lengths - classic (hip), short (low hip), and long (below the knees), Gold features all the iconic details of a traditional denim jacket: a straight cut with gently dropped shoulders, shirt collar, front and back paneling, two flap chest pockets, two welt pockets, adjustable waist tabs, contrast topstitching, a classic button front, and sleeves with an elbow seam and open cuff.
With a few simple adjustments, Gold can also be transformed into a work jacket featuring straight front patch pockets, a clean hem finish, and simplified sleeves. Each version can be sewn with or without sleeves or collar, giving complete freedom to customise your style.
Important to Know: I AM Patterns are designed to be traced off. The different pieces overlap with each other so you will need to trace the pattern on paper. This means that you will be able to make multiple sizes of the garment and adjust the pattern as you trace it if necessary. For this you could use tracing paper, baking parchment, thin wrapping paper; or we can supply you with some spot and cross pattern paper.
Suggested Fabrics: Sturdy woven fabrics that provide good structure and durability, such as denim, cotton canvas, gabardine, corduroy, quilted fabric, cotton twill, etc. For the welt pocket lining use cotton poplin or batiste.
Variations: The pattern comes in 18 versions, combining the following elements:
