Ume (Japanese for 'plum') is a versatile pattern which you can make a wide range of shirt dresses with.
The options can be combined to a number of different dresses:
- shift dress or party dress
- pointy collar, rounded collar, or bow collar
- short or long sleeves
- with or without breast pocket, in-seam pockets, and belt loops
This makes Ume a pattern which can be used all year round.
Straightgrain patterns come beautifully presented in a folder containing a full colour printed instruction booklet and a multi-sized paper pattern. Straightgrain patterns are designed to be traced off. This means that you will be able to make multiple sizes of the garment as your child grows. For this you could use tracing paper, baking parchment, thin wrapping paper; or we can supply you with some spot and cross pattern paper.
